Getting Started on Ascent

Starting with Ascent is a fun journey! Here's a beginner's guide to get you going

Step 1: Download the Ascent App

Start by downloading Ascent from your device’s app store:

Google Play Store (Android)
Apple App Store (iOS)

The app is free to download and free to explore.

Step 2: Create Your Account

Once installed, open the app and follow the prompts to create your account.

By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 16 years of age and agree to Ascent’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Step 3: Set Up Your Profile

Before taking part fully, you’ll need to personalise your profile:

Upload a profile image
Complete your basic profile details
Set up your Ascent Wallet (found in the Profile tab)

This helps keep the platform authentic, transparent, and fair for everyone.

Step 4: Explore the App

Take some time to explore Ascent and get familiar with how it works:

Video Feed
Scroll through a continuous stream of short performances from across the platform.
Events
Discover live competitions and performance opportunities where creativity is showcased and rewarded.
Leaderboard
Track how performers are ranking and see how events are unfolding.
Profile
Manage your account, update your details, and view your activity.

Step 5: Participate as a Member

All users begin as Members.

Before you can become a Competitor and submit your first performance, the following minimum participation criteria must be met:

Competitor Eligibility Requirements

To be considered eligible to become a Competitor, you must:

Be a registered Member for at least twenty-four (24) hours
Cast a minimum of fifty (50) votes on other performances
Upload a valid profile image
Complete the Competitor Consent Form

These steps help ensure that all Competitors understand the platform, engage with the community, and meet our legal and safety requirements.

Only once these criteria are met will you be able to create your first performance entry.

Step 6: Create Your First Performance

Once you’re eligible to compete:

Tap the Events button
Select the Auditioning section
Choose an event you’d like to enter
Record your performance directly in the app

Performances are recorded without filters or edits, keeping competition fair and focused on genuine talent.

Step 7: Post Your Video

When you’re happy with your performance:

Review your recording
Tap Accept to submit your entry

Your performance will then appear in the event feed for the community to view and vote on.

Step 8: Vote and Engage

Voting is central to Ascent:

Support other performers by casting your Votes
Build visibility and credibility within the community
Help shape event outcomes through participation

Active engagement strengthens both your presence and the overall platform.

Payouts and Verification

To be eligible to receive payouts or rewards, all Competitors must complete the Ascent Verification Process.

This process helps confirm identity, maintain platform integrity, and comply with applicable legal and financial requirements.
Details of the verification steps are provided within the app when required.
